When engravers say “engraver-ready,” they mean clean, closed paths with consistent stroke behavior, no stray points, and correct spot colors (if used).

Checklist:

  1. Close every contour so your machine doesn’t guess where to jump.
  2. Simplify nodes and remove leftover autotrace garbage.
  3. Expand appearances and flatten effects that won’t translate to the cutter.
  4. Clear out artifacts and hidden layers that inflate file size.

That process is the difference between noisy chatter marks and a smooth sweep. If you’re up against a tight deadline, let us handle the rebuild and send you stroke-only EPS plus plot-ready PLT/HPGL files.
